Day 1: Arrival


Pick up upon arrival at Ho Chi Minh City airport and transfer to the hotel in the central of Ho Chi Minh City. It depends on your arrival then we can suggest some strolling around the city. The night is spent in a hotel.

Day 2 Ho Chi Minh sightseeing - Cu Chi Tunnels


This morning, we begin our exploration in Chinatown, where we'll wander through the backstreets near Cho Lon. As one of Ho Chi Minh City's busiest commercial districts, these atmospheric streets are home to some of the city’s most intriguing sites. Here we visit the Ong Pagoda, also known as Chua Ong Bon or Quan De Temple. Built by Chinese immigrants, Ong Pagoda is dedicated to Quan Cong, a revered Chinese general from the Three Kingdoms period known for his loyalty, integrity, and righteousness.

After visiting Ong Pagoda, we will proceed to Ben Thanh Market, regarded as the heart of Ho Chi Minh City. Ben Thanh Market is a bustling hub where vendors sell a wide range of goods, from fresh herbs to raw fish. Following our market visit, we will enjoy a traditional Vietnamese lunch.Afterward, we will embark on a comprehensive tour of Ho Chi Minh City’s major landmarks, including the historic Reunification Palace, the iconic Notre Dame Cathedral, the charming General Post Office, and the majestic Opera House.

Our morning concludes with a
journey to the Cu Chi Tunnels. The tunnels played a crucial role during the Vietnam War (1955-1975), serving as hiding spots, supply routes, hospitals, and living quarters for Viet Cong guerrilla fighters. The Cu Chi Tunnels cover an extensive area with a network of tunnels that stretch over 250 kilometers in total length. They are organized into multiple layers, including living areas, weapons factories, field hospitals, command centers, and kitchens.

At the tunnels, we have the opportunity to crawl through sections of the tunnels, which have been widened for visitor access. This gives a firsthand experience of the cramped conditions and the ingenuity of their construction. As the afternoon draws to a close we make our way back to Ho Chi Minh City late in the afternoon. We stay overnight in the same hotel. (Breakfast and lunch are included)

Day 3 Ho Chi Minh City - Mekong Delta

Departing from Ho Chi Minh City between 7:45 am and 8:00 am, we journey southward in a private minibus for a little over two hours to reach Ben Tre. Upon arrival, we board a boat to embark on an exploration of the intricate waterways of the Mekong Delta, passing by mango groves and lush fruit orchards. Known as the 'rice bowl' of Vietnam, the fertile delta cultivates rice, tropical fruits, and flowers for the entire country.


The scenic views along the canal are breathtaking. We make occasional stops to try the succulent crops of the delta, interact with the local people, and witness the industries surrounding the river up close. Additionally, we enjoy a leisurely bicycle ride along the banks of the Mekong River.

The riverbanks are adorned with coconut palms, rice fields, orchards, and charming stilted houses, while the waterway bustles with boats of all shapes and sizes. Our journey continues to the floating market of Cai Rang. As the sun sets, we take a serene stroll along the banks of the Mekong River. In the evening, we stay overnight in a comfortable eco-bamboo lodge. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner included)

Day 4: Mekong Delta - Da Nang - Hoi An


In the early morning, we embark on an exploration of the vibrant floating market of Cai Rang, where we see the waterways and gain insights into the delta's way of life. Following this, we continue our journey to Cai Be province. Here, we leisurely stroll through the village, observing at the lush orchards lining the river tributaries. As the morning draws to a close to board our bus for the return journey to Ho Chi Minh City then on to the airport for taking a flight to Da Nang. Upon arriving in Da Nang we are picked up and transferred to our hotel in Hoi An for the night. (Breakfast and lunch are included)

Day 5: Hoi An - My Son Temples


After breakfast we can experience a blend of historical, cultural, and architectural treasures. Here are some highlights of what we can see: Ancient Houses: Explore well-preserved ancient houses, each showcasing unique architectural styles influenced by Chinese, Japanese, and European cultures, Japanese Covered Bridge: Admire the iconic Japanese Covered Bridge, a symbol of Hoi An. This 18th-century bridge features intricate carvings and offers picturesque views of the Thu Bon River. Assembly Halls: Visit the Assembly Halls, which served as meeting places for Chinese ethnic groups.

We also wander through the narrow, winding streets lined with preserved colonial buildings, colorful lanterns, and traditional shop-houses selling handicrafts, souvenirs, and local cuisine. These halls are adorned with elaborate decorations, statues, and altars dedicated to various deities. Temples and Pagodas: Discover temples and pagodas scattered throughout the town, such as the Fujian Assembly Hall and Quan Cong Temple, known for their ornate architecture and religious significance.

In the afternoon, we head to My Son Temples, situated in a lush valley. My Son was once a capital and religious center of the Cham people and is now adorned with red brick towers and sanctuaries. Regarded as being in the same league as some of Southeast Asia’s greatest archaeological sites, including Angkor in Cambodia, Bagan in Myanmar, Ayutthaya in Thailand, and Borobudur in Indonesia, these towers and sanctuaries were constructed between the 7th and 13th centuries. Following our visit to My Son Temples, we will return to Hoi An and spend the night at the same hotel. (Breakfast and lunch are included)


Day 6: Hoi An - Da Nang - Hue

Departing Hoi An, our journey takes us to Da Nang, where we will explore the Marble Mountains, followed by a visit to My Khe Beach and the Hai Van Pass. The Marble Mountains, located near Da Nang in Vietnam, are a cluster of five limestone and marble hills. These mountains are known for their natural beauty, sacred caves, and historic pagodas. We can discover the caves and pagodas and discover the intricate marble sculptures and statues crafted by local artisans.

The Marble Mountains are also significant for their spiritual and religious significance, with several Buddhist sanctuaries and shrines scattered throughout the area. After exploring the Marble Mountains, we will unwind and relax on the pristine shores of My Khe Beach. With its soft white sands, crystal-clear waters, and gentle waves, My Khe Beach is perfect for swimming, sunbathing, or simply enjoying the scenic beauty of the coastline.

Next, we will embark on a scenic drive along the Hai Van Pass. This iconic mountain pass offers breathtaking views of the coastline and surrounding landscapes. As we wind our way along the steep cliffs and lush green hills, we will have the opportunity to stop at various lookout points to admire the panoramic vistas and capture memorable photographs. The Hai Van Pass is not only a stunning natural attraction but also holds historical significance as a strategic military route. As we traverse this picturesque route, we will experience the beauty and majesty of Vietnam's coastal scenery.

Finally, our journey leads us to the historic city of Hue. As the former imperial capital of Vietnam, Hue is steeped in rich history, cultural heritage, and architectural wonders. Here, we will have the opportunity to explore ancient citadels, royal tombs, and ornate pagodas that reflect the city's royal past. With its tranquil Perfume River, vibrant markets, and delicious cuisine, Hue offers an impressive blend of old-world charm and modern vitality. Our arrival in Hue marks the beginning of our discovery of this fascinating city's treasures. Tonight we settle in with a hotel. (Breakfast and lunch are included)

Day 7 Hue sightseeing - Phong Nha - Ke Bang

Hue is home to Vietnam’s royal treasures, boasting hundreds of monuments and ruins that transport us back in time. Our excursion begins with a leisurely stroll to the Imperial Citadel, a fortress housing both the Imperial City and the Forbidden Purple City within its walls. Next, we will visit the Thien Mu Pagoda, an enduring symbol of Hue dating back to 1601 and still an active Buddhist monastery.
Afterward, we will journey to the royal tomb of Emperor Tu Duc, nestled amidst a tranquil landscape of lakes, frangipani bushes, and pine trees. Early in the afternoon we board our vehicle for our journey to Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park. The night is spent in a hotel. (Breakfast and lunch are included)

Day 8: Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park - Tu Lan Cave - Dong Hoi - Board an overnight train to Hanoi

Departing from Phong Nha Lake House between 7:15 to 7:30, we embark on a journey to the Oxalis office, located 70 km from Phong Nha. At the office, our guide provides a short briefing about the trekking itinerary and safety regulations. We sign the release form and receive the necessary safety equipment.

After the briefing, we begin hiking through the flat corn and peanut fields toward the Rao Nan River. Crossing the river, we ascend a small slope to reach the entrance of Rat Cave. Here, we are equipped with helmets, headlamps, and safety gear to explore Rat Cave, which stretches about 300 meters long. This cave features beautiful stalactites and a soaring dome with a unique heart-shaped structure.

Following our exploration of Rat Cave, we return to Rao Nan river and ascend the 60-meter high Baby Hill. Crossing the Hung Ton valley, we reach the dry passage of Hung Ton Cave. Guests descend a 15-meter ladder with safety harnesses in Hung Ton Cave to explore the remaining dry passage of the cave, where visitors have the opportunity to see a fossil of a million-year-old marine species.

Next, we proceed to the water passage of the cave. Equipped with life jackets, we swim in the underground river of the cave, crossing a small reef until we reach the picturesque To Mo Valley. Here, we enjoy lunch and swim in the emerald-green stream before swimming back through Hung Ton Cave.

The 1-day Tu Lan experience tour concludes with a trek through lush green valleys and fields back to Rao Nan River. We hike through the seasonal farmland to the waiting vehicle, which takes us to Dong Hoi railway station for boarding an overnight train to Hanoi. (Breakfast and lunch are included)


Day 9: Hanoi sightseeing

Upon arrival we are picked up and transferred to the hotel for having shower and breakfast. This is followed by Hanoi exploration. The sights include Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the Presidential Palace, Ho Chi Minh's stilt house, One Pillar Pagoda, Tran Quoc Pagoda, the Temple of Literature, Hoa Lo Prison, the Museum of Ethnology, Hoan Kiem Lake and the Old Quarter. We also spent time experiencing the train street before we retire to our hotel for the night. (Breakfast and lunch are included)

Day 10: Hanoi - Ha Giang

Departing Hanoi from your hotel between 7:15 a.m to 7:30 a.m, we head to Ha Giang. Ha Giang is famous for its rugged karst mountain ranges, with dramatic cliffs, deep valleys, spectacular terraced rice fields and home to various ethnic groups including the Hmong, Dao, Tay, and Nung. Each group has its own distinct customs and traditions. Upon arrival in Ha Giang, we embark on a a leisurely hike through peaceful ethnic villages and along picturesque rice terraces. Tonight, we will enjoy a delicious dinner prepared by our host. The night is spent in a traditional wooden stilt house. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included)

Day 11: Ha Giang - Dong Van

After breakfast, we will take a hike through the villages and scenic rice terraces. Along the way, we'll engage with local villagers as they tend to their seasonal crops and plow their paddies with buffaloes. Our journey then takes us to Dong Van, with a visit en route to Vuong Palace, once home to Vuong Chi Sinh, the Hmong king. The palace's unique architectural style is a hallmark of Dong Van. We'll also stroll around the township before retiring for the night at a hotel. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included)

Day 12: Meo Vac - Nho Que River - Quan Ba

This morning, we will hike through the remote and beautiful countryside of Meo Vac, winding our way through the spectacular landscape and passing several H’Mong ethnic villages. We will observe the local people as they grow terraced rice or tend to their seasonal crops. In the afternoon, we will reach the Ma Pi Leng Pass, where we will take a hike along the stunning mountains.

We will be rewarded with a brilliant backdrop of picturesque valleys. This will be followed by a boat trip along the Nho Que River, allowing us to appreciate the sublime beauty of towering mountains and peaceful backwaters. Early in the afternoon we make our way to Quan Ba for the night in a local Dao family lodge. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included


Day 13: Quan Ba - Bac Ha

Quan Ba boasts verdant hillocks, seasonal farmlands, and beautiful valleys, all home to the Dao ethnic people. After breakfast, we will embark on a leisurely hike, taking time to meet the locals and experience their daily way of life. Following our hike, we will commence our journey to Bac Ha, arriving around 6 p.m. The night is spent in a local family lodge. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included)

Day 14: Bac Ha - Sapa

After breakfast, our journey proceeds to Sapa. Upon arrival, we will hike and trek through Y Linh Ho, a picturesque valley inhabited by the Black H'mong ethnic group. Originating from China 300 years ago, the Black H'mong are distinguished by their dark-blue or black attire, traditionally dyed with indigo sourced locally. Women often wear long aprons complemented by intricately embroidered waistcoats.

Our trek will lead us along buffalo paths, trails, and peaceful ethnic minority villages, offering breathtaking views of sculpted rice paddy terraces and stunning scenery. We'll enjoy lunch while taking in magnificent vistas of the lush valley and towering mountains.

Continuing our journey, we'll descend to the hill tribe villages of Ta Van, nestled in a spectacular region and inhabited by the Zay ethnic group. The Zay and Black H’mong peple. The Giay and H’mong people are skilled in rice cultivation and meticulously maintain the manicured terraces that stretch across the landscape. Tonight we spend the night in a hotel. (Breakfast and lunch are included) 

Day 15: Sapa - Hanoi

After breakfast, we embark on a hike through vast terraced farmland and bamboo forests, enjoying panoramic views of emerald valleys and rushing waterfalls along the way. We then make our way back to Hanoi, arriving around 5pm. The night is spent in a hotel. (Breakfast and lunch are included)

Day 16 Hanoi - Ninh Binh - Van Long Nature Reserve - Cuc Phuong National Park

Departing Hanoi between 7:00 to 7:30 in the morning 
we'll make our way to Ninh Binh before continuing on to Van Long Nature Reserve. Van Long Nature Reserve is renowned for its largest nature reserve in Vietnam. Immerse yourself in the picturesque scenery as you enjoy a rowing boat ride along the nature reserve, amidst towering limestone peaks and serene backwaters.


Then, we journey to Cuc Phuong National Park, situated in Ninh Binh Province. Spanning over 200 square kilometers, Cuc Phuong is renowned as Vietnam's most celebrated national park, boasting a rich tapestry of biodiversity. As we venture into the park's verdant expanse, following scenic hiking trails we see diverse flora and fauna. Admire ancient and towering trees, vibrant flowers, and lush foliage or listen to the calls of exotic birds.

Continuing our exploration of Cuc Phuong National Park, we visit the Endangered Primate Rescue Centre and the Turtle Conservation Centre. These vital facilities provide invaluable insight into the ongoing conservation efforts dedicated to safeguarding endangered primate species and freshwater turtles.

At the Endangered Primate Rescue Centre, we have the opportunity to observe and learn about the various primate species native to Vietnam, many of which are critically endangered. Through educational programs and guided tours, we gain a deeper understanding of the challenges these primates face and the conservation initiatives aimed at their protection and rehabilitation.

Similarly, at the Turtle Conservation Centre, we witness firsthand the dedicated efforts to conserve and protect Vietnam's vulnerable freshwater turtle populations. Through educational exhibits, informative presentations, and interactive experiences, we gain insight into the threats facing these endangered creatures and the measures being taken to ensure their survival.

After our visit to the Endangered Primate Rescue Centre and the Turtle Conservation Centre, we transition into a delightful culinary experience by joining a local family for a cooking lesson. Our culinary journey begins with a visit to a vibrant local market for fresh ingredients.

Additionally, we gather vegetables from our host's lush garden before mastering the art of making traditional Vietnamese spring rolls, zesty dipping sauces, and sticky rice. We share in the warmth of the family's hospitality as we eat a delicious dinner together. The night is spent in a cosy lodge owned by a local family. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included)


Day 17 Ninh Binh - Bich Dong - Thung Nang - Trang An - Hoa Lu - Mua Cave

We depart our lodge for our journey to the pagoda of Bich Dong. Located in Ninh Binh, the Bich Dong Pagoda is a scenic site with its serene beauty and historical significance. Perched amidst stunning natural surroundings, this ancient pagoda complex comprises three levels: Lower, Middle, and Upper.

As we ascend the stone steps leading to the pagoda, they are greeted by lush greenery and scenic views of the surrounding landscape. The Lower Pagoda, nestled at the base of a limestone cliff, features intricately carved statues and altars dedicated to Buddha and other deities.

Continuing upward, visitors reach the Middle Pagoda, which offers panoramic views of the picturesque countryside below. Here, they can admire ancient Buddhist sculptures and architectural details dating back centuries.

Finally, at the Upper Pagoda, visitors are rewarded with breathtaking views of the entire area, including nearby karst formations and winding rivers. The tranquil atmosphere and spiritual ambiance make it a perfect place for hikers.

Leaving Bich Dong behind we embark on a serene rowing boat ride along the Nang River, surrounded by lush greenery and towering limestone cliffs. The two-hour boat excursion weaves along this enchanting river and through the Thung Nang cave system, featuring several caverns adorned with stalactites.

For the adventurous and energetic, there's an opportunity to climb up Mua Mountain and enjoy a panoramic view of the stunning surroundings, while witnessing the sunset cast its warm glow over the mystical limestone mountain range.

We also devote time to a scenic bicycle ride in Trang An. Trang An is renowned for its intricate network of rivers and caves, designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its rugged limestone cliffs and emerald waters. The surrounding areas are dotted with tiny villages, picturesque paddy fields, temples, and hiking trails, adding to the charm of this UNESCO World Centre.

During our bicycling excursion we weave between towering limestone mountains, serene waterways, peaceful villages, verdant rice paddies, and enchanting historical sites. This presents a wonderful opportunity to immerse ourselves in the rhythms of everyday rural life.

Our journey continues as we make our way to Hoa Lu, the ancient capital of Vietnam, holds a special place in the country's history and heritage. Situated in the picturesque Ninh Binh province, Hoa Lu was the political and economic center of the country during the Dinh and early Le dynasties in the 10th and 11th centuries.

We explore the remnants of this once-thriving capital, including the remains of royal palaces, temples, and citadels. One of the most notable sites is the Dinh Tien Hoang Temple, dedicated to the first emperor of the Dinh Dynasty. The temple's architecture and ornate decorations offer insight into the grandeur of the era.

Nearby, the Le Dai Hanh Temple honors the founder of the early Le Dynasty and provides a glimpse into the cultural and religious practices of the time. Aside from its historical significance, Hoa Lu is also renowned for its breathtaking natural beauty, with limestone karsts and lush greenery surrounding the ancient ruins.

After a leisurely stroll through nearby villages and along the banks of the tranquil Sao Khe River, we continue to Mua Cave. Upon ascending Mua Mountain, we enjoy a panoramic view of the stunning surroundings, with the sunset casting a warm glow over the mystical limestone mountain range. Day 18: Ninh Binh - Bai Tu Long Bay

Departing Ninh Binh between 7:45 to 8:00 we reach Bai Chay, the gateway to Bai Tu Long Bay. Upon arrival, we embark on a boating adventure, gliding through the serene waters of Bai Tu Long Bay. Discover hidden coves and towering karst formations as we explore this pristine marine landscape. Our journey continues to Cap La, where we have the opportunity to embark on a kayaking excursion. Paddle through crystal-clear waters, marveling at the beauty of the surrounding limestone cliffs.

As the sun begins to set, we make our way to Cong Do, where we will spend the night aboard our comfortable boat. Relax on the deck and soak in the tranquil atmosphere as you enjoy a delicious dinner prepared by our onboard chef. Fall asleep to the gentle lapping of the waves, surrounded by the beauty of Bai Tu Long Bay. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included)

Day 19: Bai Tu Long Bay - Halong

Start your day early with Tai Chi exercises. Afterward, enjoy a light buffet breakfast and take some time to relax and prepare for the day ahead. Next, transfer to the day cruise boat and set sail through Bai Tu Long Bay towards the heart of Halong Bay. Along the way, you'll explore the Trinh Nữ Cave area and the Trong Cave area. Continue cruising towards Lan Ha Bay in the Tung Sau area, where you can enjoy kayaking and swimming in the crystal-clear waters. You'll also have the chance to visit a pearl farm and learn about Halong Bay's agriculture.

After enjoying a delicious lunch served on board, the boat takes a different route back to Bai Tu Long Bay. You'll have the chance to explore the magnificent Me Cung Cave or Tien Ong Cave (Heaven Scene Mountain Cave). Later, return to the overnight boat for continued cruising to the Cong Do overnight area. Unwind on the deck, savoring the serene atmosphere, and delight in a delectable dinner prepared by our onboard chef. Drift off to sleep to the soothing sound of waves, enveloped in the beauty of Bai Tu Long Bay. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included)

Day 20: Bai Tu Long Bay - Hanoi

We continue exploring the truly fascinating scenery of the bay, with vertical and unusual rocks and islets emerging from the sea. Enjoy a serene bamboo boat ride to visit the floating fishing village of Vung Vieng, Vung Vieng is a floating fishing village located in Halong Bay, Vietnam.

It is known for its picturesque setting and traditional way of life, where local people live on floating houses and make their livelihood through fishing and aquaculture. In Vung Vieng we have the opportunity to observe the daily rhythm of life. Afterward, we return to Halong City and board our vehicle for the journey back to Hanoi, arriving around 4 PM. We stay overnight in a hotel. (Breakfast and lunch are included)

Day 21: Departure

Enjoy some free time for relaxation or to explore the city before your departure flight. (Breakfast is included)
