3 days Mekong Delta Explorer

Ho Chi Minh City, Cai Be, Can Tho, Ben Tre, Ho Chi Minh City

The Mekong Delta, with its meandering waterways and flourishing daily life, is a place not to be missed. Riverbanks are laden with coconut palms, rice fields, orchards and stilted houses. The water is teeming with boats of all shapes and sizes and the Mekong comes alive as you navigate past fishing boats, cargo vessels and even floating houses.

Day 1 Ho Chi Minh City - Cai Be - Can Tho

Departing from Ho Chi Minh City, our journey takes us to Cai Be, where we embark on boats to explore the enchanting Mekong Delta. Along the riverbanks, coconut palms, rice fields, orchards, and stilted houses paint a picturesque scene, while the water bustles with boats of all kinds. As we navigate the lively Mekong, we pass fishing boats, cargo vessels, and charming floating houses. Our excursion includes visits to local cottage industries, and lush fruit orchards. Eventually, we arrive in the vibrant township of Can Tho, where we have time to explore the town before retiring to our hotel for the night. (Lunch and dinner included)

Day 2 Can Tho - Ben Tre

This morning, we embark on an early boat trip to immerse ourselves in the bustling floating market of Cai Rang, where we witness the vibrant waterways and gain insight into the delta's way of life. Following this, we journey to Ben Tre province, renowned for its verdant fruit orchards and historic significance as a Viet Cong stronghold during the Vietnam War.

Upon arrival, we embark on a kayaking adventure along serene and verdant canals, offering one of the most immersive ways to experience the Mekong Delta's waterways. Afterwards, we're warmly welcomed into the home of a hospitable local family to partake in crafting authentic Vietnamese cuisine, including delectable Coconut Cake, flavorful dipping sauces, and fresh Spring Rolls, among other dishes. As we enjoy the family's gracious hospitality, we share dinner together. Our overnight stay provides a unique opportunity to immerse ourselves in river life and experience the warmth of local hospitality. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner included)

Day 3 Ben Tre - Ho Chi Minh City

Our discovery of the delta's flourishing farms and waterways is to take a delightful stroll around a local market and boat along the Mekong River. Time is also spent cycling along its banks, passing through mango groves and fruit orchards, stopping at our pleasure to savour the delta's succulent crops and bring us into contact with the local people. Delicious lunch is served in our host before we board our vehicle for a return journey to Ho Chi Minh City, arriving around 5 pm. (Breakfast and lunch are included)
