Day 1 Ho Chi Minh City - Cai Be - Can Tho
Departing from Ho Chi Minh City between 7:45 am and 8:00 am, we journey southward in a private minibus for a little over two hours to reach Cai Be. Upon arrival, we board a boat to embark on an exploration of the intricate waterways of the Mekong Delta, passing by mango groves and lush fruit orchards.
Known as the 'rice bowl' of Vietnam, the fertile delta cultivates rice, tropical fruits, and flowers for the entire country. The scenic views along the canal are breathtaking. We make occasional stops to try the succulent crops of the delta, interact with the local people, and witness the industries surrounding the river up close. Additionally, we enjoy a leisurely bicycle ride along the banks of the Mekong River. The riverbanks are adorned with coconut palms, rice fields, orchards, and charming stilted houses, while the waterway bustles with boats of all shapes and sizes.
Our journey continues to the floating market of Cai Rang. As the sun sets, we take a serene stroll along the banks of the Mekong River. In the evening, we are warmly welcomed into the home of a hospitable local family to savor a delightful meal of local specialties. (Lunch and dinner included)
Day 2 Can Tho - Ben Tre - Ho Chi Minh City
In the early morning, we embark on an exploration of the lively floating market of Cai Rang, where we see the waterways and gain insights into the delta's way of life. Following this, we continue our journey to Ben Tre province. Here, we leisurely bike through the village, observing at the lush orchards lining the river tributaries. We traverse the riverfront, winding through narrow lanes and rural villages, where water buffaloes graze peacefully and locals tend to their fruit crops, warmly greeting us along the way. Later, we enjoy a delicious lunch with a local family. Finally, we board our bus for the return journey to Ho Chi Minh City, arriving late in the afternoon. (Breakfast and lunch are included)
