3 days Bai Tu Long Bay
Hanoi, Bai Tu Long Bay, Quan Lan Island, Cai Rong Island, Hanoi
This adventure is centered on the islands of Bai Tu Long Bay. We enjoy a range of activities, including boating among the limestone peaks, cycling across Quan Lan Island, relaxing on the beach, exploring the shoreline, and meeting wonderful local people.
Day 1 Hanoi - Bai Tu Long Bay
Bai Tu Long Bay, known as the Bay of the Submerged Dragon, boasts over 1,600 craggy and towering islets and is among the most picturesque places in Vietnam. The bay's fantastic beauty has given rise to many legends, some dating back to ancient times. One such legend tells of a dragon descending into the deep waters, spitting out gems as it did so, thus forming the rocky islands.
Departing from Hanoi, we journey to Ha Long City and then on to Cai Rong Island. Upon arriving in Cai Rong, we embark on a boat trip among the spectacular limestone peaks. Kayaking is one of the best ways to get a close glimpse of the picturesque limestone outcrops and observe a delightful floating fishing village, where some families spend their lives living on the sea.
Arriving at Quan Lan Island, we head to our warm and friendly lodge. Here, we have the opportunity to learn how to make traditional Vietnamese Spring Rolls, succulent fish dipping sauce, and a squid dish. Tonight, we stay overnight in our comfortable lodge. (Lunch and dinner are included)
Day 2 Quan Lan Island - Bai Tu Long Bay - Cai Rong Island
Quan Lan Island is located in Bai Tu Long Bay. The island is blessed with stunning beaches, scenic hills, sand dunes, and tiny villages sprinkled throughout its surroundings. After a quiet morning strolling around the picturesque village of Quan Lan, we enjoy a bicycle ride across the island, watching the day unfold in this serene setting.
We then board our boat to discover the northern reaches of Bai Tu Long Bay. Here, we find a beautiful spot to paddle our kayaks among stunning rock formations, allowing us to fully appreciate the sublime beauty of the bay. Finally, we complete our day on Cai Rong Island, where we stay overnight in a hotel. (Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included)
Day 3 Cai Rong Island - Hanoi
Cai Rong's breathtaking limestone scenery and vibrant fishing village life are on full display during our morning on the island. We enjoy our last day on Cai Rong Island, retiring to a beautiful cave and taking a hike up a towering mountain to capture perfect panoramas of the dramatic rock formations.
We also spend time strolling around the local fishing market of Cai Rong before boarding our vehicle for the journey back to Hanoi, arriving there about 5pm. (Breakfast and lunch are included)
