Sapa is the home of dramatic landscapes, colourful hilltribes, breathtaking scenery and is well-known for its Saturday market. Hike through lush rice terraces, watch village life, stay overnight in a Zay ethnic minority village and retire to a vibrant market. This trip offers wonderful experiences.


Day 0 Hanoi - Overnight train to Lao Cai

We meet you at our office between 19:00 and 19:30 for a trip briefing. Afterward, we provide a short transfer to Hanoi Railway Station. Here, we board an overnight train departing from Hanoi at 22:00, arriving in Lao Cai around 6:00 the following morning.

Day 1 Lao Cai - Sapa - Hau Thao - Giang Ta Chai

Upon arriving at Lao Cai Railway Station in the early morning, we are greeted and transferred by bus, winding through spectacular mountains and picturesque rice terraces to reach Sapa town. After freshening up and enjoying breakfast, we embark on a journey to explore Sapa and its neighboring villages of Sa Seng and Hau Thao, nestled in a stunning valley and inhabited by the Black H'mong people.

Eventually, we arrive at Giang Ta Chai village, nestled in a breathtaking region. Tonight, we experience the warmth of Zay hospitality as we stay overnight in a traditional stilt-house with a Zay family. The Zay people are known for their expertise in rice cultivation, tending to the meticulously terraced landscapes that stretch across the horizon. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included)

Day 2 Giang Ta Chai - O Qui Ho - Sapa 

Surrounded by verdant hills and lush rice terraces, the beautiful village of Giang Ta Chai awaits us. We embark on a scenic hike through these picturesque landscapes before returning to Sapa. During your free time, consider exploring a local market and embracing the relaxed lifestyle of this charming township.

In the afternoon, we visit the villages of Sin Chai and O Qui Ho, nestled amidst sculpted rice terraces and inhabited by the Black H’mong people. Here, we leisurely hike through peaceful villages and fertile farmlands, suitable for everyone to enjoy. Tonight, we relax and unwind at a hotel in Sapa. (Breakfast and lunch included)


Day 3 Sapa - Sa Seng - Hau Thao - Lao Cai - Overnight train back to Hanoi

After breakfast, we take a scenic hike to the ethnic villages of Sa Seng and Hau Thao and Ta Phin, nestled amidst dramatic mountains and lush hills, where the Black H'mong people live. Exploring more of the stunning rural countryside, we engage with friendly locals, gaining a deeper understanding of their daily lives. In the late afternoon, we transfer to Lao Cai railway station to board a sleeper train back to Hanoi. The train departs from Lao Cai at 21:30 and arrives in Hanoi at 5:45 am the following morning. The trip concludes upon arrival at Hanoi Railway Station. (Breakfast and lunch included)

A wide variety of food is commonly available in local homes, restaurants or markets, using fresh local ingredients, typical of the way people eat in the area. We also cater for Vegetarians but please request this at time of booking.

Tour Guide: Our experienced and friendly local tour guide speaks good English. She/He is knowledgeable about local cultures, history and the environment.
