2 days Bai Tu Long Bay

Hanoi, Bai Tu Long Bay, Hanoi

If you're short on time and seeking a less conventional experience than Ha Long Bay while still wanting to witness its natural wonders, this trip is ideal for you. It highlights some of the most impressive sights in Bai Tu Long Bay, from extraordinary rock formations to excellent food, interactions with friendly local families, and much more.

Day 1 Hanoi - Bai Tu Long Bay

Adjacent to Ha Long Bay, Bai Tu Long Bay is equally magnificent yet less frequently visited. Legend has it that the Child Dragon landed here, creating its spectacular landscape. Departing from Hanoi between 7:15 am to 7:45 am, we drive to Cai Rong Island.

Here, we embark on a boat ride that takes us through the most stunning compressed and twisted islets, formed by mountain creation movements nearly ten million years ago. Following this, we enjoy a kayaking ride among picturesque limestone outcrops, one of the best ways to explore the bay.

Finally, we arrive at Quan Lan Island, known for its white sand beaches, tiny villages, and verdant hills, where we settle into our lodge. The lodge is tastefully designed with textile and bamboo accents on the bedding and adorned with traditional furnishings, creating a peaceful and exotic ambiance.

At our warm and friendly lodge, we have the opportunity to learn how to make traditional Vietnamese Spring Rolls and succulent fish dipping sauce and Squid dish. Tonight, we stay overnight in our comfortable lodge. (Lunch and dinner are included)

Day 2 Bai Tu Long Bay - Hanoi

Thousands of years in the making, Quan Lan Island, located in Bai Tu Long Bay, is a testament to a time when the sea receded, leaving the island surrounded by ivory white sand dunes and stunning crescent beaches. The island also boasts significant historical importance, having once been a trading post and an ancient battleground during the Mongol invasion of Vietnam in the 13th century.

We wake up early to visit a local fishing market before taking a bicycle ride across the island, the best way to see all the sights, lush surroundings, and breathtaking sea views. This allows us to stay close to the fertile land and its friendly inhabitants.

After that, we board our waiting boat to explore more of the bay. The return journey follows a different route, giving us a few hours to appreciate the tranquil beauty unique to Bai Tu Long Bay. We finally arrive back at Cai Rong Island, where we are picked up and transferred to Hanoi, arriving around 6 pm. (Breakfast and lunch are included)
