3 days Black River Adventure

Hanoi, Dong Bang, Black River, Hanoi

The Black River combined with the picturesque scenery of Mai Chau and the ethnic diversity of North West Vietnam makes this an unforgettable adventure.

It is an excellent way to experience the best that North Vietnam has to offer – beautiful scenery, traditions and culture, hiking and friendly Vietnamese people. Join us on this colourful expedition to see why!

Day 1 Hanoi / Dong Bang

We depart from Hanoi to Mai Chau District, about 150 km south-west of Hanoi.

On arrival at a village of Dong Bang, we hike around the open rice fields, and idyllic villages in a particularly picturesque part of the area.

We absorb the daily life and appreciate the warmth and friendliness of the local people we meet along the way.

The night is spent in one of the White Thai family. The Thai people are an ethnic minority group originally from southern China and ethnically linked to the Thai in Thailand.

We enjoy the warm hospitality over a dinner with the host and an overnight stay in a traditional stilt-house. (Lunch and dinner are included).

Day 2 Dong Bang / Black River
The day begins with a beautiful hike through the tiers of splendid rice terraces and past several idyllic villages.

This is followed by an enjoyable bicycle ride around a spectacular area, which features verdant hillocks, lush farmlands and beautiful mountains.

Finally, we descend to the Xom Moi village, located by the Black River and home to the Muong people.

Tonight we settle in with a Muong family in a traditional wooden house to experience their way of life. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included).

Day 3 Black River / Hanoi
This morning we take a delightful boat ride along this river. Those who relish an energetic hike have one more chance to take a short hike along its banks and around peaceful villages.

Following lunch in a local restaurant, we board our vehicle for our return journey to Hanoi, arriving there at around 5pm. (Breakfast and lunch are included).
