3 days Pu Luong Adventure

Experience the nature and culture of Mai Ha and Pu Luong Nature Reserve. Head into the depths of scuplted rice terraces by bicycle and foot. Take the opportunity to explore the spectacular limestone mountains and we are also guests of traditional wooden stilt-houses of White Thai and Muong people. A truly enriching experience!
Day 1 Hanoi - Mai Ha - Hang Village
We depart from your accommodation in Hanoi between 7:45 am and 8:00 am, heading southwest towards the Mai Chau District. Upon arriving at Mai Ha village, we embark on a hike through expansive rice fields and charming villages nestled in this picturesque region. A delightful lunch awaits, hosted by a local family, where we immerse ourselves in village life and experience the warmth and hospitality of the locals.
In the afternoon, we continue our journey along footpaths that wind through terraced fields and scenic hills towards Hang Village. Here, we will be hosted by a Black Thai family, an ethnic minority originally from southern China with cultural ties to the Thai people of Thailand. We enjoy their gracious hospitality during dinner and spend the night in a traditional stilt house. (Lunch and dinner are included)
Day 2 Hang Village - Kho Muong
The day begins with a picturesque hike through magnificent rice terraces, passing charming villages, verdant hills, lush farmlands, stunning mountains, and a scenic valley. Our destination is Kho Muong village, a remote and picturesque settlement nestled within the Pu Luong Nature Reserve in Thanh Hoa Province, Vietnam.
Kho Muong Village is renowned for its breathtaking natural beauty, characterized by lush rice terraces, verdant hills, ancient forests, and tranquil valleys. The village is predominantly inhabited by the Black Thai ethnic minority, who have preserved their traditional way of life, customs, and distinctive wooden stilt houses.
During our time in Kho Muong Village, we will trek into the valley to immerse ourselves in the serene rural landscape, engage with local villagers in their daily activities, and gain insights into the rich culture of the Black Thai people. Tonight, we will have the unique opportunity to stay overnight with a Black Thai family in a traditional wooden house, experiencing firsthand their hospitality and lifestyle. Day 3 Kho Muong - Hanoi
Kho Muong and its surroundings offer breathtaking scenery, including stunning rice terraces, spectacular limestone forests, and picturesque villages, making it an ideal destination for our final day in Pu Luong. After breakfast, we embark on a hike through cornfields and rice terraces, passing towering mountains and lush hillsides. Along the way, we observe local villages and witness everyday life. Our journey back to Hanoi begins thereafter, with an estimated arrival time around 5 p.m. (Breakfast and lunch are included)

Physical activities:
Our itinerary includes hikes with:
- A 7-9 km hike on Day 1
- A 12-16 km hike on Day 2
- A 6-8 km hike on Day 3
We need to be reasonably fit as the hikes can be challenging sometimes, depending on the weather conditions.
From July to September, the climate is usually humid and hot. From October to June brings cooler and more pleasant weather.

What to Bring:
