3 nights/2 days Sapa Adventure

Sapa, Y Linh Ho, Giang Ta Chai, Ban Ho

Hiking into the spectacular mountains and between rice terraces, and staying in a traditional homestay to get a real glimpse of Vietnamese life.

Day 0 Hanoi / Overnight train to Lao Cai
We meet you in our office between 19:00 to 19:30 to explain more about the Sapa region. Following that our driver brings us to Hanoi railway station for boarding an overnight train. We enjoy a comfortable night's sleep onboard the train as we head to Lao Cai.

Day 1 Lao Cai / Sapa / Y Linh Ho / Giang Ta Chai
Upon our arrival in Lao Cai railway station in the early morning (approximately 6am) we are greeted by our driver and transferred to Sapa town by minibus, journeying through the dramatic mountains and above the scenic rice terraces of Sapa.

After having a refreshing shower and breakfast at our hotel we begin a trek to discover Sapa and its nearby villages of Y Linh Ho and Giang Ta Chai, set in a spectacularly beautiful valley and home to Black Hmong and Giay ethnic people.

Well off the tourist trail, we hike along spectacular mountains and through sculpted rice terraces. We meet the friendly local farmers at work, as they plough their paddies behind water buffaloes, tend their seasonal crops or fish in the river.

We enjoy a few stops along the way as well as for a scenic lunch in the countryside. Finally, we arrive in the village of Giang Ta Chai, nestled in a beautiful region and home to a Giay ethnic community.

Tonight we get to know our Zay hosts invite us to learn about their rich culture, to share stories and to try some of their local home cooked cuisine.

We spend the night in the traditional house of a Giay family. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included).

Day 2 Giang Ta Chai / Ban Ho / Sapa / Lao Cai / Overnight train back to Hanoi
After breakfast at our homestay we hike through vast terraced farmland, and bamboo forest for excellent views of emerald valleys and rushing waterfalls as we stroll on. We depart by minibus to Sapa

Once we arrive in Sapa, we enjoy some free time to rest our legs. If we still have some energy perhaps visit the local market. This is where we can indulge in some local goods, such as dyed fabrics, hemp plants and handmade textiles.

Late this afternoon we are picked up from our Sapa hotel by our driver. We are then transferred to Lao Cai railway station for an optional dinner before we board the overnight train to Hanoi.

The trip is completed at Hanoi railway station upon our arrival at about 5.30am the following day. (Breakfast and lunch are included).
