Day 0 Hanoi - Overnight train to Lao Cai
We will meet you at our office between 19:00 and 19:30 to provide a trip briefing. Afterward, our driver will transfer us to Hanoi railway station for boarding an overnight train to Lao Cai. The train departs from Hanoi at 22:00 and arrives in Lao Cai at 5:45 am the following morning.
Day 1 Lao Cai - Sapa - Y Linh Ho - Giang Ta Chai
Upon our arrival at Lao Cai railway station in the early morning (around 6:00 am), our driver will greet us and transfer us to Sapa town by minibus, passing through the stunning mountains and picturesque rice terraces of Sapa.
After refreshing with a shower and breakfast at our hotel, we embark on a trek to explore Sapa and its neighboring villages of Y Linh Ho and Giang Ta Chai, nestled in a breathtakingly beautiful valley and inhabited by Black Hmong and Giay ethnic groups.
Venturing off the beaten path, we hike through spectacular mountains and among sculpted rice terraces. Along the way, we encounter friendly local farmers engaged in their daily activities: plowing their paddies with water buffaloes, tending to seasonal crops, or fishing in the stream. We take several breaks throughout the day, including a scenic lunch in the countryside.
Our journey concludes in the village of Giang Ta Chai, where the Giay ethnic community resides amidst the picturesque surroundings. Tonight, our Zay hosts warmly welcome us into their traditional home, offering insights into their rich culture, sharing stories, and treating us to local home-cooked cuisine. We spend the night immersed in the authentic hospitality of a Giay family. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included)
Day 2 Giang Ta Chai - Ban Ho - Sapa - Lao Cai - Overnight train back to Hanoi
After breakfast at our homestay, we embark on a hike through vast terraced farmland and bamboo forests, enjoying panoramic views of emerald valleys and rushing waterfalls along the way. We then depart by minibus back to Sapa.
Upon arrival in Sapa, we have some leisure time to relax and unwind. For those still full of energy, a visit to the local market is highly recommended. Here, we can explore and purchase local goods such as dyed fabrics, hemp plants, and handmade textiles.
Later in the afternoon, our driver picks us up from our hotel in Sapa and transfers us to Lao Cai railway station. Before boarding the overnight train to Hanoi, there's an option for dinner. The journey concludes upon our arrival at Hanoi railway station around 5:30 am the following day. (Breakfast and lunch are included)
