I booked the 4 night 3 day Sapa trekking tour with Ethnic Travel. I had a fantastic time.. everything worked according to plan.. the owner of the company took me personally to the train station in Hanoi and saw me off.. I had a lovely sleeping cabin on the train which far exceeeded my expectations.. I was met again personally at the other end and driven directly to Sapa by their driver. Soon after arriving at the hotel stop off I was given breakfast and my guide arrived soon after to pick me up. I trekked with my female guide from the Black Hmoung tribe all across the mountains and she ( being from this area herself) had a wealth of information... we had lunch along the way in a lovely restaurant overlooking the mountains and stayed at a lovey homestay.. which was like a log cabin style but very modern and clean... with hot water and lovely fresh linen.. then trekking again the next day.. Lam , my guide was very responsive to my requests and we changed the itinerary to suit my needs. Again I was driven back to the train station to the 'stopover' hotel right next to the station which was very handy. I would really recommend this tour as an insight into a unique way of life and incredible scenery.
Absolutely amazing trip which showcases the highlights of Vietnam. We enjoyed getting to know the culture and it people with a great group and lovely guide. The highlights of the trip were Ha Giang, Lan Ha Bay and Ninh Binh! I would highly recommend Ethnic Travel.
