Fantastic company to deal with. Very efficient very responsive unusual for Asia. We did a 3 day 2 night tour Of Halong , Lan Ha etc from Cat Ba. Great boat Great food great staff. We also used Ethnic for some transfers etc highly recommended !


Above any expectations. We asked to have a day tour out of the standard touristic places and Khańh designed the tour in perfect way. The outstanding point however was him!! He knows everything of the culture and history of Vietnam and he answered to so many questions with coherence and details! We have been pretentious and he managed us with flexibility and professionalism. I truly recommend to opt for his tours!! We’ll do it again for sure.


We walked into this bookshop / travel agency by chance this morning and we are so glad we did! The owners are the sweetest people and got GREAT taste in books. The walls are lined with books and it's set right in the centre of the old quarter. They can help you so much with recommendations for reading and are very professional for travel tips as well. It was such a lovely experience to book with them in comparison to other places we have been to lately. Defiantly recommend using their services and having a look through their bookshop!


Absolutely amazing trip with them. We booked through not at all knowing what to expect but it turned out lovely. We spent 4 nights and 3 days going around Sapa with 2 of those nights being at homestays. We had an excellent tour guide by the name of Chi, who showed us the natural beauty of the land and gave us a real appreciation for the area. It seems like they tailor the treks to the fitness level of the group however on a personal note it was a lot especially when not used to the heat. After surviving it though it was such an amazing experience and we have so many good memories to look back on.

If you don't want to feed the 'fast' tourism of the area and want to a real depth experience I couldn't recommend this enough.


We did a trip to the bahia and other to Sapa. Both were very nice, Mr Lucky in the boat and Ms May in Sapa, were both the best guides that we can have Both trips were very nice and the agency send us a confortable car when the rain did some damage in Sapa. This gave us security. Finally they also offered us shower and tea at our arrival in Hanoi.

The only thing is that if you have the option, don't take the bus with beds, take the train or other option. They are so small, we measure 1.69 and 1.71 and it was small for both of us. Additionally, we take the holiday season and people was so noisy in the bus. Finally, the bus runs so fast (we left Sapa 22h and we arrive 3am). Regardless this point, our experience has been very great.


We booked a day trip to the handicraft villages around Hanoi. As opposed to other touristic offers (e.g. Ha Long Bay), this was very informative and absolutely no tourist traps involved. Also, the guide was very knowledgable and explained a lot about Vietnamese culture.


Our tour to Tu Long Bay organised by Ethnic Travel was a great experience! If you travel with children (we travelled with our four kids in the age between 2 and 5) ask for Thuong as a guide: She is great with kids and she made their stay wonderful as well!

Furthermore is Thuong very pleasant company and speaks English very well. We very much recommend her to anybody who is considering to travel to Bai Tu Long Bay.

The driver (and we don't even know is name)! He was excellent and that was a great relief to us (travelling with our kids), because the traffic isn't very easy in Viet Nam (understatement) and sometimes truly dangerous. He always anticipated very well to possible dangerous situations and therefore we never got in trouble!

Bai Tu Long is absolutely wonderful and unspoilt by tourism (in three days time we saw only two other boats!).The boat we travelled was comfortable. The food was abundant and excellent prepared. Most important: Bai Tu Long is of unmatched beauty, the views and sceneray are stunning and the surroundings are of unmatched beauty. So Khanh and Vy thank you very much for organising this wonderful tour: we would recommend it to everybody.

Our travels with Ethnic Travel and with Long were wonderful! The places we visited with Long were our favorite part of the entire 2 weeks we spent in Vietnam. :) Ethnic Travel is remarkably well run- all of our visits went so smoothly! Long was an excellent guide - perfect English and great knowledge about Vietnam's history, culture, geography, food, nature. Joe and I could ask him ANYTHING and he always knew the answer. Long and Ethnic Travel really helped us to appreciate Vietnam in a way we never would've been able to if we had traveled on our own or with a large, touristy travel company. We will recommend Ethnic Travel to anyone we know who plans a trip to Vietnam!

Our favorite parts of the trip were Mai Chau and the home stay in the wood house on stilts with no electricity. Hiking in the rice fields there was beautiful and the family we stayed with hosted a really fun and delicious dinner. We also really liked our little cooking class in Tam Coc - the spring rolls we made with Long were the best we had in the 2 weeks we were there!

I also wanted to mention how wonderful our driver was. I think his name was Hue? He was young and he was an excellent driver and always in a good mood. We really enjoyed his company and thought that he and Long were a great team.   

One thing that we really appreciated was having western style toilets in most places. It's certainly not essential and we are comfortable without toilets but it was a nice treat to find a western toilet in most places we stayed. 

We really don't have any recommendations because we thought the trip was perfect! Thank you so much for your assistance in setting it up for us and please let us know if we can pass you any additional information!
