We had excellent services starting from picking up from Hanoi till the cruise without any issues they were on time. During the stay on the cruise, we opted for vegan food, and they served it very well with a lot of varieties. It was delicious. Ice coffee and smoothie at the Sundeck, lying on the chair, and enjoying sunset views are simply serene & relaxing experiences.
Special thanks & our gratitude to Mr.Sing who took good care of us during our stay. The rooms are tidy and spacious, and we could get a spectacular view from our room of the beautiful limestone mountains.
Ethic tours and travels allowed us to experience the beauty of limestone mountains and emerald waters through Kayaking. Kayaking inside the cave gave me goosebumps. One of the best adventurous sports in our entire Vietnam trip.
The stay included a visit to one of the villages and a short hike. At the peak of the hill, we got to see breathtaking, unforgettable views followed by lunch at a homestay amidst the forest. The atmosphere at the homestay was calm and pleasant. The next day they took us to see a floating village and fish market, which was a different experience. Last but not least do not expect to have good Wifi, including sunscreen lotion, quick dry clothing, and good hiking shoes.
Overall it was a pleasant stay for us.

It was easy to book our trip online with Ethnic Travel before we arrived in Vietnam. They answered all of our questions and we weren’t disappointed. Leaving on a 12 day Northern Vietnam trek with Vanh as our guide and Cong as our driver, we were in good hands. We saw so much of the beautiful countryside, trekked through villages and mountainsides, stopping to see caves, waterfalls and villages. We stayed away from the touristy areas. Vanh was very knowledgeable about Vietnam and was terrific at providing us with all kind of details about agricultural practices, the culture and village life. He worked tirelessly at making sure we had a great experience and were comfortable. The meals were delicious and we never went hungry, no matter where we stopped. Cong kept us safe on the interesting roads around the area. We would definitely recommend Ethnic Travel for a great experience! Two things to think about- do the trek first before exploring more of the country. It will give you a deeper understanding and appreciation of the culture. We were glad we did. Secondly, ask about the type of accommodation you will be staying in. We didn’t want to stay in hostel type rooms and wanted our own private room, which we got.

We spent 5 days on a tour around northern Vietnam with our guide Hien and our driver Cong. We did the Ha Giang loop and a visit to Ba Be National Park with various stops other remote places along the way. Our guide, Hein, was very knowledgeable about the area and was able to take us to lesser known places. For example, one day we were able to visit the house of a local H'mong family during an improvised hike due to some landslides which had prevented us taking our original route. This was an amazing experience and one which was clearly not organised and you could tell that nobody had been there before. Hein was able to offer experiences like these because he can also speak some of the dialects of the ethnic groups who don't always speak Vietnamese.
We did a hike each day and rearely, if ever, saw any other tourists on the hikes. Hein also really made sure that our vegan dietary requirements were catered for at every meal. The homestays were all fantastic and you could tell that they had carefully selected them and were paying them a fair amount for our stay.
Overall we had an amazing time with Ethnic Travel, we loved the trip and our guide and driver, and we'd really recommend this company.

Ethnic Travel is a small-medium sized tour company specialised in small group (max 6 people) guided trips throughout Vietnam. Their distinctive trait is to organise only tours where the tourist/traveller can experience directly and actively the real life of Vietnam, far from the stereotypes and the only reference to the American War. Their catalogue of multiple day tours is rich but they are flexible enough to cater to the interests and the curiosity of the traveller. But the great value of Ethnic travel is their full commitment to the guest, the total reliability and competence of the guides and drivers working for them. The home stays they choose for their guests when travelling in the countryside are the most valuable part of the entire experience. I wish Ethnic Travel the success they deserve and I highly recommend them both for solo traveller and for small groups/families.

We booked a 14 day trip around the north of vietnam. We went to see Mrs Thu in the office and she worked out a bespoke trip for us. We stayed in a variety of home stays and our driver and guide were both wonderful.
Huge storms led to us having to change our trip and shorten it and the company were very helpful and a very reasonable refund was agreed. All in all I'd recommend going with ethnic travel - worth the money!

We traveled in the north of Vietnam for 10 days With Ethnic Travel. Ethnic travel is an outstanding travel agency. Everyone we dealt with did their outmost to accommodate our needs - the staff at the office, our guide and driver. We can not recommend them highly enough.
Ms Thu at the office was fantastic in designing a trip that meet our requirements. We asked for some changes along the way and she did her best to accommodate our requests. It was a real pleasure traveling with our guide, Mr Vang. In addition to being a lovely person he has a wealth of knowledge, which really added to the experience. On the last day we needed to be at the airport on a very tight schedule. They organised a speedboat to take us from the cruise in Lan Ha Bay. The coordination of the trip from Lan Ha Bay to Hanoi was not straightforward and was impeccable. In Hanoi we were meet by the team leader Mr Khanh. He took us to one of the best restaurants in Hanoi. This was not in the plan, and was such a lovely way to end our trip. We felt we received a VIP service.
