About Ethnic Travel
Khanh and Thu, a couple driven by a vision to create a travel company that would not only enrich the experiences of travellers but also bring benefits to local communities, established Ethnic Travel in 2006.
As a privately-owned Vietnamese company headquartered in Hanoi, Ethnic Travel specialises in offering a diverse array of educational and active small-group trips across the region. Our offerings range from boating and kayaking adventures in Halong Bay, Lan Ha Bay, and Bai Tu Long Bay, to immersive experiences such as cycling and cooking in the Red River and Mekong River deltas, as well as hiking, trekking, and cultural visits to ethnic minority communities throughout Vietnam. Additionally, we explore stunning caves in Phong Nha and Ke Bang.
At Ethnic Travel we tailor and adapt our trips to meet the specific needs and budgets of our guests, catering to travellers of all ages. Our itineraries are carefully crafted to ensure that each day is filled with rich experiences and activities, incorporating various modes of transport, scenic routes, and a relaxed pace.
Everything we do brings connections between our travellers and the local people and cultures they encounter along the way. We strive to venture off the beaten track, allowing our clients to explore geographically beautiful and remote locations, interact with local people in their communities, and participate in cultural experiences such as cooking, sharing meals, and even staying overnight with local families.
Our team are knowledgeable and experienced professionals. We are passionate about Vietnam and its diverse cultures. They are dedicated to promoting responsible travel practices that minimise negative impacts on local populations and the environment while maximising positive outcomes.
To ensure an intimate and personalised experience, our travel groups are kept small, typically consisting of no more than 10 to 16 individuals. We actively encourage our clients to choose eco-friendly modes of transportation whenever possible, such as bicycles, river boats, and local buses.
We choose small, locally-owned accommodation and homestays, local restaurants or markets for eating. This brings revenue to local communities and provides guests with unforgetable memories and a better insight into the way of life in Vietnam.
