Day 1 Hanoi / Ninh Binh (The Red River Delta)
We depart from Hanoi to Ninh Binh province. Ninh Binh is located in the marshy Red River delta, featuring a network of waterways coupled with spectacular limestone formations rising up from rice paddy fields.
On arrival we combine a wonderful boat ride along a scenic canal with hiking around open rice fields and looking around at the amazing folds of the impressive rock formations.
Time is also spent taking a bicycling ride through tiny villages and farm farmland. There is plenty of time for us to experience the way of life in the delta.
Following that we settle in with a family for our cooking lessons. We head out to a market, which is laden with fresh meat, fish, vegetables and fruit. We pick up vegetables from our host's beautiful garden.
Together we learn how to make authentic Vietnamese food, such as succulent Spring Rolls, zesty dipping sauce and sticky rice. We then enjoy the family’s gracious hospitality as they share lunch with us. The night is spent in a comfortable lodge. (Lunch and dinner are included).
Day 2 Ninh Binh / Van Long Nature Reserve / Cuc Phuong National Park / Hanoi
We depart our lodge for our journey to Van Long Nature Reserve. From here we enjoy a boat ride past tiny villages and a unique area known for its magnificent limestone peaks. Following that we drive to Cuc Phuong National Park. Cuc Phuong National Park is located in Ninh Binh Province and covers over 200 sq kms. This is Vietnam’s most famous park.
Upon our arrival at Cuc Phuong National Park we take a short hike in the rainforest.
